I found this estate to be quite astonishing, particularly the progression of architecture as the palace was passed down through emperors. Most beauitful of all was the private lake (seen here) that had imperial boats ready to take the emperor to his buildings in the middle of the lake.

aristocratic poet Alexandre Cavchavadze – and its great garden – belonged to the 19th century aristocratic poet Alexandre Cavchavadze. He inherited this villa – located in the Alazani River valley – from his father, Prince Garsevan. He refurbished the estate, constructed a new Italianate palace, and built a decorative garden in 1835.

This beautiful small church stands on the top of the rocky mountain at the confluence of the Mtkvari and Aragvi rivers, overlooking the village of Mtskheta, which was formerly the capital of the Kingdom of Iberia.
