“Pushkin and his epoch” is an occasion to meet with the Russian culture of the first half of the 19th Century.
The event is composed of the presentation of a collection of Pushkin poetry translated in Italian:"Il servigio delle muse non soffre frivolezza". This collection was edited by the State Library of Foreign Literature in Moscow and is presented for the first time in Florence in the prestigious frame of Gabinetto GP Viesseux, in the heart of Florence. The presentation is accompanied by the expo "Pushkin and his time" that explains the epoch of this great writer to better understand his work.
In the evening the atmosphere of a St. Petersburg Ball will be re-created in the Gran-Ducal Ballroom of Villa del Poggio Imperiale, a magnificient Villa just outside the city gate of Florence. Waltzers, polkas, mazurkas, galops and quadrilles will be directed and choreographed by M° Donald Francis, historical dance expert and Director of Atelier de Danse.
